Minister Işıkhan Made Visits in Çankırı
Minister of Labour and Social Security Prof. Dr. Vedat Işıkhan went to Çankırı to pay various visits and participate in programmes.
Işıkhan first visited Çankırı Governorship within the scope of his visits in the city. He received information from Governor Mustafa Fırat Taşolar about the works and projects in the city.
Minister Işıkhan then paid a visit to the Mayor of Çankırı, İsmail Hakkı Esen.
Minister Işıkhan, who attended the AK Party Çankırı 7th Ordinary Congress of Youth Branches, started his speech by wishing mercy to the citizens who lost their lives in the explosion that occurred in the ammunition factory in Karesi district of Balıkesir and healing to the wounded.
Işıkhan reminded that they travelled to the region with the relevant Ministers immediately after the incident and said, ‘We have assigned our inspectors to conduct detailed investigations. We are monitoring the issue closely. I wish that similar incidents will never happen again. May God protect our country and nation from all kinds of calamities.’
Emphasising that the AK Party is Türkiye's largest civil society movement, Minister Işıkhan said: ‘AK Party is not only a political party, but also the manifestation of the national will in politics. For this reason, congresses are our feasts and festivals where we hand over the flag in line with new goals and new actions on the way to serve the nation and make room for new cadres. In this blessed journey, putting a stone upon a stone, making a contribution to the good of our country, no matter how big or small, is the most valuable gain for us who consider it an honour to be a servant to the people.’
‘The World is Waiting for Us’
Işıkhan stated that the victories extending from Syria to Karabakh impose a great responsibility on them and continued his words as follows:
‘The whole world has once again witnessed what Türkiye means to the world. We should know very well that the world is waiting for us! Young people, the world is waiting for us. You are the greatest strength of this country, the brightest hope and the guarantee of our future. Your energy, determination and belief are our source that will make our country a leader in the 21st century. We set out believing in this cause, we set out believing in our leader and commander-in-chief. And in all the actions, achievements and victories we have made, we did not pay attention to those who said ‘they cannot do it’. Today, I see that same belief, that same determination in the eyes of you standing in front of me. You are the generation that will ensure this nation's revival, development and becoming a power that shapes the world. For this reason, we do not have a minute to lose. We must work hard and endeavour hard.’
‘You should develop yourself in accordance with the skills and qualifications required by our age’
Pointing out that young people should work hard to make themselves better equipped with knowledge, experience and education, Minister Işıkhan said: ‘On the one hand, you should put all your efforts and energy into serving our country, nation and cause, and on the other hand, you should develop yourself in accordance with the skills and qualifications required by our age. I believe that this potential is very much present in the youth of this country, who will build the Turkish Century! There is no second political party in our country that gives such value and initiative to its youth and paves the way for them. AK Party is a party that has been a role-model for all other parties at every level of politics.’
Premium Debts of Municipalities
‘Our nation has seen that one of the biggest reasons for the debt swamp of CHP municipalities is the astronomical figures paid for concerts,’ Işıkhan said:
‘You also know about their SSI debts: Since CHP municipalities are always the most indebted municipalities, they do not want us to raise this issue. Is it our fault that the most indebted municipalities are CHP municipalities? And they lie that we discriminate between municipalities. We facilitate every municipality that applies to us within the framework of the legislation. For example, the municipality that we made the biggest real estate swap in the history of SSI with 1 billion 65 million liras at one time was Küçükçekmece Municipality of CHP. Is this discrimination? Again, most recently, Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality and Bolu Municipality made real estate offers; we are positively responding to these steps. What part of this is discrimination? In the case of foreclosures, when the regulation on deductions from the source was introduced, municipalities that resist paying their debts started to apply to the SSI. This is a good development, and this was our intention. Despite this, we will realise the collection of the debts of every municipality that does not take steps with a deduction from the source.’
‘We are not after short-term gains, we are after permanent prosperity and development’
Minister Işıkhan stated that he wanted to warn young people about one issue and said, ‘One of the biggest threats today for you, who will build the future of our country, and for our beloved nation is the irresponsible screaming of the opposition and the swamp of populism they are dragged into. In the economy, employment, social security and social policies, they are trying to deceive the nation with baseless and hollow promises. Although they know that in the long run they will put a great burden on your shoulders, they continue to engage in populism even though they know that it will harm our development and stability. With what they say today, God forbid, the economy will collapse, the social security system will collapse, the health system will collapse, our foreign policy will collapse, our fight against terrorism will collapse; Türkiye will return to the darkness of the 90s. And it is really not easy to fight populism. Therefore, our young people should not allow such cheap opposition over their future.’
Drawing attention to the fact that while building the future of Türkiye, they do not seek short-term gains, but permanent prosperity and development, Işıkhan said: ‘Our aim is for you to step into a future full of opportunities in a stronger Türkiye, in stability. I trust in the determination and diligence of young people, the sons and daughters of Anatolia.’
At the end of his speech, Minister Işıkhan stated that he would like to give a good news for Çankırı province and said, ‘Under the leadership and instructions of our President, we are allocating 1500 IUP quotas for our institutions and organisations in Çankırı within the scope of our Labour Force Adaptation Programme. May it be auspicious and auspicious for our Çankırı’.
