Minister of Labour and Social Security Prof. Dr. Vedat Işıkhan attended the AK Party Mardin 8th Ordinary Provincial Congress held with the presence of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Wishing the provincial congress to be auspicious, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said, ‘’Mardin is never an ordinary city. Mardin is the nucleus, essence and summary of Türkiye. If one neighbourhood of Mardin is Bursa, another neighbourhood is Adana. If one neighbourhood is Sarajevo, the other is Aleppo, Hama and Homs. If one embroidery is Abbasid, the other is Seljuk. If one embroidery is Artuqid, the other is Ottoman. Mardin is the culture and splendour of these lands. It is the cradle of civilisations, every corner of which carries a centuries-old memory from history. Don't let anyone get their hopes up. We will not allow our relationship with Mardin to deteriorate. We do not condone the reaching of unfriendly hands to Mardin.’’

Stating that they have invested a total of 480 billion liras in Mardin in the last 22 years with updated values, President Erdoğan shared the following information:

“4 and a half billion liras in justice, 28 billion liras in education, 2 billion liras in youth and sports, 103 billion liras in social aids, 8 billion liras in health. Currently, the city hospital has reached over 40 per cent. God willing, we will finish it quickly. We invested 77 billion liras in environment and urbanisation, 28 billion liras in transportation, 164 billion liras in agriculture and forestry, 4 billion liras in industry and technology, 50 billion liras in energy, 2.3 billion liras in culture and tourism, and 10 billion liras in labour and social security with incentives. We have provided 57 sports facilities. The project work of our Midyat Sports Hall with a total of 1,500 spectators is ongoing. Construction of 4 health facilities, tender, project and land stages of 25 health facilities are ongoing. We have completed and handed over 10 thousand 361 houses through TOKİ. We are continuing the construction of 716 houses. We have completed 4 of the 7 people's gardens we planned in our city. The construction of the Nusaybin People's Garden and the site selection and project work of the other two are ongoing. We added 257 km to the divided road distance we took over from 29 km and increased it to 286 km in total. We will put the Mardin-Midyat road, Ceylanpınar-Kızıltepe road, Diyarbakır-Bismil-Batman route, the city crossing and overpass bridge and Savur bridge on the Silvan road into service in 2025, and the Mardin Northeast ring road in 2026.”

Minister of Labour and Social Security Işıkhan emphasised that Mardin is a city of history, culture and brotherhood and said the following, “Mardin is the city of multicultural but single-hearted beautiful people. And Mardin is the name of a love that always stands firmly behind its leader, is devoted to Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and believes in his cause. Our President has always placed Mardin and our Mardinite brothers and sisters in a special place. He regards service to Mardin, the development and growth of Mardin as his own love.”

Mr Işıkhan pointed out that Türkiye, under the leadership of President Erdoğan, is writing epics both inside and outside the country, not only with the successes reflected in public but also with much greater victories behind the scenes, and continued his speech as follows, “There is now a Türkiye that rises to the sky with its own wings and changes the balances in the world. From defence to agriculture, from health to technology, we are a country that sets the game, sets the agenda and has a say at the table. Türkiye is currently experiencing the strongest period of its history. This is not just a success story, it is the triumph of the resurrection of this nation and the will of the nation.”

Minister Işıkhan pointed out that they will make this century the century of young people, women, labourers, farmers, industrialists and all citizens, and continued as follows:

“It will be a period in which we make Türkiye's name more recognised in the world in every field and increase the welfare of our nation more. Mardin will be one of the shining star cities of this century! We have a lot more to do for Mardin. From north to south, from east to west, we will continue to revitalise and build Mardin together. We will continue our services and projects with the same determination as we have achieved so far and served our nation.”
