Ali AYBEY

Director General of Foreign Relations and European Union

He was born in Denizli in 1981. He completed his primary, secondary and high school education in Denizli. He graduated from the Middle East Technical University, Department of International Relations in 2004. He attended a German language course at Heidelberg University (as a DAAD scholar). He holds a master's degree in European Studies from the University of Bonn (as a Jean Monnet Scholar).

In 2006, he started working as an Assistant Expert at the Turkish Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA) under the Prime Ministry. During his time at TIKA between 2006 and 2011, he served abroad at overseas offices of TIKA in Uzbekistan and Montenegro. In 2011, he transferred to the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) under the Prime Ministry as an Expert.

He served as the Diplomatic Advisor to the Minister of State in 2010-2011 and to the Minister of Labour and Social Security in 2011-2015. He was appointed as Ministerial Counsellor to the Ministry of Labour and Social Security in October 2014 and to the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock in January 2016. During these periods, he continued to serve as Diplomatic Advisor to the Minister in respective Ministries. During his assignments, he participated in numerous high-level meetings and represented Türkiye in international meetings and negotiations.

He served as Deputy Director General in the General Directorate of Foreign Relations of the Ministry of Labour and Social Security in the 2018-2023 period. After serving as Director General of International Labour Force in the same Ministry in the 2023-2025 period, he was appointed as the Director General of Foreign Relations and European Union by the Presidential Decree published in the Official Gazette dated 27 February 2025.

Ali AYBEY has a good command of English and speaks German at an intermediate level. He is married and has one child.
