IPA Sectoral Monitoring Committee Meetings Held in Ankara

The 17th Sectoral Monitoring Committee Meeting for IPA II and the 5th for IPA III were held in Ankara on 6 May 2025 with the participation of relevant stakeholders, under the coordination of our Directorate General.

The Sectoral Monitoring Committee Meeting in the field of Employment, Education, and Social Policies was held under the co-chairmanship of our Ministry, acting as the Program and Managing Authority, and the Delegation of the European Union to Turkey, with the participation of the Directorate for EU Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (NIPAC), the Ministry of Treasury and Finance as the National Authorising Officer (NAO), relevant public institutions, program and managing authorities, and implementing bodies.

In the first part of the meeting, following the opening speeches, the outcomes of the previous Committee meeting and the developments in the sector were discussed. Subsequently, detailed presentations were delivered on the current status of programming, procurement processes, implementation performance, and financial progress of the projects under implementation within the scope of the operational program. Participants contributed to the process by sharing their opinions and suggestions, thereby supporting the strengthening of a multi-stakeholder and transparent monitoring structure.

In the afternoon sessions, the progress made towards the program objectives, findings from monitoring and evaluation activities, and analyses based on performance indicators were shared. Additionally, assessments were made regarding the functioning of management and control systems at the sectoral level and the effectiveness of the current structure.

In the final part of the meeting, ongoing communication and visibility activities were reviewed, and ideas were exchanged on new steps that could be taken to enhance the effectiveness of these activities.

The meeting concluded with a follow-up on the previous Committee decisions, a summary of the outcomes achieved, and planning for the next meeting.
