Minister Prof. Dr. Vedat Işıkhan attended the 2nd World Summit on Social Development hosted by Qatar in Doha


Held in 1995 in Copenhagen, the 2nd World Summit on Social Development was held in Doha hosted by Qatar between 4-6 November 2025 after a 30-year break. At the event, our country was represented by Minister Prof. Dr. Vedat IŞIKHAN and Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir GÖKTAŞ.

On the margins of the Summit, which concluded with the adoption of the Doha Political Declaration including renewed commitments on social progress and development, Minister Prof. Dr. Vedat IŞIKHAN participated in the high-level roundtable on the components of social development and shared his views. In addition, Minister Işıkhan participated in the forum organised as a side event on the margins of the Summit by the Global Social Justice Coalition, of which the Ministry is a member of the Coordination Group, and informed the participants about Türkiye's national and international efforts in this field.

Minister IŞIKHAN held bilateral meetings in Doha with the German Federal Minister of Labour and Social Affairs, Bärbel BAS; the Finnish Minister of Social Security, Sanni Grahn-LAASONEN; and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Labour and Social Affairs of the Czech Republic, Marian JUREČKA.
