Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) Informal Economy Workshop Held in Istanbul
The AiB Informal Economy Workshop, which was titled “Opportunities, Trends, and Best Practices,” and supported by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the European Commission, was held in Istanbul under the coordination of our General Directorate. The workshop aimed to address the opportunities, challenges, and best practices for the transition from the informal economy to formal employment in the Mediterranean basin. The workshop comprised numerous panels and sessions featuring presentations and experience shared by panelists who are experts in their fields.
Ömer Faruk AYDEMİR, Deputy Director General for Foreign Relations and the European Union, delivered the opening speech on behalf of our Ministry. The workshop was attended by government representatives from EU member states, as well as Yasser HASSAN, Director of the ILO Office in Türkiye, and representatives of various international organizations, civil society organizations, and worker and employer unions. Representatives from relevant departments and affiliated organizations of our Ministry also attended the workshop.
