Minister Işıkhan held bilateral meetings as part of the 114th International Labour Conference


Minister of Labour and Social Security Prof. Dr. Vedat IŞIKHAN held a series of bilateral meetings in Geneva, where he was attending the 114th International Labour Conference organized by the International Labour Organization (ILO) and conducting various official engagements.

As part of his programme, Minister Işıkhan first met with Mr. Motasim Ahmed Saleh Adam, Minister of Human Resources and Social Welfare of the Republic of Sudan. During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the fields of labour and social security.

Minister Işıkhan also held a bilateral meeting with Mr. Gilbert F. Houngbo, Director-General of the ILO. The discussions focused on efforts to further deepen cooperation between Türkiye and the ILO. Steps taken to promote social justice and protect labour rights were also reviewed.

Within the framework of the 114th International Labour Conference, Minister Işıkhan met with Mr. Mohammad Haidar, Minister of Labour of Lebanon. During the bilateral meeting, the parties discussed measures that would institutionalize cooperation between the two countries in the areas of employment and social security.

Subsequently, Minister Işıkhan held a bilateral meeting with Mr. Anar Aliyev, Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Population of Azerbaijan. During the meeting, emphasis was placed on further strengthening relations between the two countries across all areas in line with the principle of “One Nation, Two States.”
