The 3rd Consultation Meeting of the Overseas Organization of the Ministry of Labour and Social Security was Held
The 3rd Consultation Meeting of the Overseas Organization, organized with the aim of strengthening coordination between the overseas units of our Ministry and the central organization, as well as increasing the effectiveness of the activities carried out by our overseas units, was held online on 7 May 2026.
The meeting, chaired by our Deputy Director General Dr. Selim Dağlıoğlu, was attended by our overseas representatives, administrators from the central organization, and representatives from the units of the Social Security Institution (SGK).
In the first part of the meeting, experts from the SGK General Directorate of Insurance Premiums addressed the procedures related to General Health Insurance (GHI) for our citizens living abroad.
Information was provided regarding the scope of General Health Insurance, the updating of GHI registration records, and cancellation of the credited periods.
In the second part of the meeting, officials from the SGK General Directorate of Pension Services provided technical information regarding crediting for the period spent in overseas service, which is regulated under Law No. 3201.
In this context, the conditions for the termination of pensions granted through crediting, the effects of insurance for services abroad and social assistance on pensions, as well as problems encountered, were discussed, and questions from our overseas representative offices were answered.
The program concluded following planning and evaluation discussions regarding the next consultation meeting.
