Technical Meeting on Occupational Safety and Health in the Retail Sector Held in Geneva


The “Technical Meeting on Occupational Safety and Health in the Retail Sector”, organized by the International Labour Organization (ILO), was held in Geneva between 28 September and 2 October 2026.

The meeting, which was attended by government, worker, and employer representatives from over 50 ILO member countries, was attended by Labour Experts Selçuk Yaşar and Nurullah Taş representing our Ministry. During the meeting, occupational safety and health issues in the retail sector were addressed within the framework of changing working life and the increasing use of technologies, and conclusions containing recommendations on steps that can be taken in this field were evaluated.

The discussions within the scope of the meeting were conducted under three main headings: opportunities and challenges affecting occupational safety and health in the retail sector, policies and good practices, and proposals regarding the work of the ILO and the tripartite structure.

At the conclusion of the meeting, conclusions and recommendations aimed at improving occupational safety and health in the retail sector were adopted and published.
