Minister Işıkhan Participated in the “6th Global Conference on the Elimination of Child Labour” in Morocco

Minister of Labour and Social Security Işıkhan stated, “We will further strengthen the institutional framework we have built since 2002 in the fight against informal employment.”

Minister of Labour and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan attended the 6th Global Conference on the Elimination of Child Labour held in Marrakech, Morocco.

Işıkhan stated at the conference that they addressed the Ministry of Labour and Social Security’s efforts in this field as well as the issues emerging on the global agenda.

Işıkhan conveyed that they shared Türkiye’s active efforts in this field with the representatives of the participating countries, noting the following:

In the panel entitled “Expanding Social Protection Coverage and Transition to Formal Employment in the Fight Against Child Labour: Good Practices and Innovative Approaches,” we presented our policies and practices aimed at the permanent elimination of child labour and the promotion of formal, secure, and decent work. We will further strengthen the institutional framework we have built since 2002 in combating informal employment. We will continue to contribute to the development of global policies to protect our children, who are our future.

Minister Işıkhan stated that, in the bilateral meeting with Dr. Younes Sekkouri, Morocco’s Minister of Economic Participation, Small Enterprises, Employment, and Skills, they evaluated initiatives aimed at institutionalizing relations between the ministries in the fields of social security and employment, and, within this framework, exchanged views on the conclusion of a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between the two countries.

Houngbo ile de ikili görüşmelerde bulundu.
